Some commonly asked questions:

  • We understand that it could be intimidating to walk into an unfamiliar space for the first time. We have members of our Hospitality Team whom you will encounter as you enter the building that will greet you with the bulletin and a warm smile. You will likely be asked to fill out a newcomer’s form, without pressure, so that we can connect with you later in the week. Our members are equipped to answer most, if not all questions you may have during your visit.

  • Our Sunday service begins with a “call to worship,” a time where we are led as a congregation to turn our focus to worshiping God. This is followed by a time of praise (singing worship songs), which we invite you to participate in, with no pressure. We will then have a time of listening to the message on the Word of God. Afterwards is a short time of praise (in response to the message) and prayer. Lastly, we usually end with the weekly announcements and a reciting of the Lord’s Prayer or a benediction.

  • Our first service begins at 9:00 AM and typically goes on for about one hour. Afterwards, you can join us in the fellowship hall/gymnasium for bagels and coffee.

Our second service begins at 11:00 AM and typically goes on for an hour and fifteen minutes. We encourage you to join us in the fellowship hall/gymnasium for lunch where we will have a table set up for you and any other newcomers by our Hospitality Team.

  • Yes! We have a worship services for children of all ages. We have the Angels ministry (ages 1 - 3), Promise Kids ministry (ages 3 - Kindergarten), Dreamers ministry (grades 1 - 2), and History Makers ministry (grades 3 - 5), and Youth Group ministry (grades 6 - 12). These programs are available only during the 11:00 AM service. For more, feel free to visit our links for children’s ministry and/or youth ministry. On the day of your visit, the Hospitality Team will guide you to their sanctuary and introduce you to the director or one of the staff.

For infants, we have a cry room available for both services so that you can still participate in the service.

  • During our Sunday services, we have an offering box for our congregation to give as an act of gratitude to God. As a newcomer, you are encouraged to give as your heart leads you to. The offering is used by our church to cover operating expenses, as well as to various causes, including various local and overseas missions, staff salaries, and other administrative costs associated with running a church.

  • We always encourage our members to dress their best, befitting of worshiping our God. With that being said, you will fit in and be welcomed whether you are dressed casually or more formally.

  • Wearing a mask at CPCNY is optional for both adults and children. However, we ask all who attend to be mindful; if you have any COVID-19 symptoms we ask that you stay home and watch our service online. As it is the same with state/city school policies, parents must make clear to their own children their expectations for mask wearing.
